The Eyes of The Lord

Sep 6, 2026    Pastor Timothy Green

Drawing from 2 Chronicles 16:9, this sermon presents a compelling portrait of a God who is actively and urgently searching the earth, not as a passive observer, but as one who desires to demonstrate His power on behalf of those whose hearts are fully devoted to Him. The pastor challenges the congregation to examine the condition of their hearts, distinguishing between a perfect heart in the biblical sense, meaning one that is wholly surrendered and undivided in its loyalty to God, and a divided heart that attempts to rely on human wisdom and outside sources rather than trusting in God. Using the cautionary example of King Asa, whose faith began strong but gradually gave way to self-reliance, the sermon calls believers to honest self-examination, repentance, and renewed wholehearted devotion to God, with the promise that when God's searching eyes find such a heart, He shows Himself strong on that person's behalf.
